Summary
Storm Fergus was named by Met Éireann and crossed Ireland on 10 December 2023, the day after Storm Elin. UK impacts were limited. The Met Office issued yellow warnings, and Fergus brought further rain to already saturated ground, with flood warnings on rivers including the Severn and Ouse. Across both storms, gusts topped 69mph on exposed Irish Sea coasts, including 81mph at Capel Curig (Conwy) and 75mph at Orlock Head (County Down). The Met Office does not split these figures between the two storms. Met Éireann recorded a gust of 117km/h (73mph) at Mace Head in Ireland during Fergus.
